Wouter Mol

Wouter Mol is one of the guys who has been in the Vacansoleil DCM team from the very beginning. The rider from Heerhugowaard fulfils an important role in the team because he knows when there is work to be done, which he then always completes with full passion. Especially in the flat parts, this strong rider from the Dutch Province of Noord-Holland often fulfils very useful work. Yet Mol cannot be defined as a pure domestique because once he gets the chance, the tall rider is able to pursue his own opportunities. The highlight of his cycling career is undoubtedly the final victory in the Tour of Qatar in 2010. He also finished in the top 3 in races such as the Batavus Pro Race, The Münsterland Giro and the Hel van Mergelland. With two collarbone fractures, 2012 was not the luckiest year of his career. Nonetheless, Mol seemed to ride his first major tour effortlessly. The new 2013 season finally offers the opportunity for the tall man to defend his victory in Qatar with suitable pride, after the team missed out on an invitation for two consecutive years.
