Sergey Lagutin

In 2013, Sergey Lagutin will commence his fifth season with Vacansoleil DCM. A rider the public may be less familiar with and thus underestimate, but who is considered to be of great value to his team. In the more selective classic races and the difficult stage races, the Uzbekistan national champion rises to the top almost automatically, sometimes to score a personal top classification but also often supporting other riders. After a fifteenth place in the Tour of Spain of 2011, Sergey Lagutin proved himself in the last year in the finals of flat and hilly races. The 2003 world champion of the Under-23 category (Hamilton) is still very motivated even though he is now in his thirties and because of his knowledge, talent and fanaticism he can be seen as an example for the young riders in the team. A place on the Tour selection of Vacansoleil DCM continues to be a dream of the eternal champion from Uzbekistan.
