Rob Ruijgh
Rob Ruijgh’s cycling career has not always gone smoothly but, once he arrived in the professional peloton, this young guy from the Dutch province of Limburg can no longer be stopped. In 2011 he managed to convince his team management that he really had to start in the Tour de France. A correct presumption as, in particular on the uphill, Ruijgh turned out to be one of the revelations of that last Tour de France. In the end he even managed to finish the Tour in 21st position and that is not something many first timers in the most important cycling race of the world can say. Ruijgh also made himself noticed as a team player because he played a major part in the Dutch title of Pim Ligthart in Ootmarsum. In 2012 Ruijgh hopes to take another step up in his career.
