Matteo Carrara

The Italian Matteo Carrara can be counted as a core member of the team. Last year this Italian with a passion for maths had a strong first half of the season. He was close to stage win in Paris-Nice and he ended this Race to the Sun in eleventh place. In a particularly strong Giro d'Italia, he made himself known with a seventeenth place in the General Classification. There were no International victories for Carrara in 2011, although the year before he was the end winner of the Tour of Luxembourg. The Italian will be capable of going for his personal top results in 2012 as well, but will also prove himself to be useful as a teacher to a new crop of talent from the northern countries.
