Marco Marcato

It was a liberation for Marco Marcato when, last year, he was finally able to achieve his first victory in the Vacansoleil-DCM outfit in the Tour de Vendée. In the three years in service of the Dutch formation, the Italian was good for more than twenty podium place in important races, but now he has finally been able to take a place on that top step. And the team was really happy for him because Marcato is a rider who gives it his all at full speed from the early spring until late autumn and each time hunts for that high classification. Also, in 2011, he scored important points for the team, for example, by coming second in Paris-Tours and third in the general classifications of the Tour of Poland.
