Lieuwe Westra
The team is very happy that Lieuwe Westra decided to start up a second cycling career a few years ago, choosing to store his road workers’ tools. This guy from the Dutch Province of Friesland has not only become an established name in the team, but also in the peloton. Last year, Westra rode his first Tour de France. In time trials he was nearly in the top twenty twice. The Tour gave him more value, and was perhaps the secret behind his surprising eighth place at the World Championship time trial in Copenhagen, which earned him a nomination for the 2012 Olympics in London in this discipline. Also, with his win in the opening time trial at the Tour of Belgium, he proved to be amongst the best time trialists. With a solo, this guy from the North should be able to win a classic race or a stage.
