24 year old Limburger moves to 2nd place in general classification.
In the 200+ kilometre Queen stage of the Tour of Luxemburg Wout Poels went into the final with 3 riders from Radioshack. They had a lead of 24 seconds on a small peloton to where fellow fugitive Andreas Klöden had dropped back. Poels won the sprint before Fuglsang. Johnny Hoogerland finished 10th.
Poels felt in good form during the whole week in Luxemburg: The course started very well on Wednesday with a 14th place in the short prologue. Today Schleck attacked with Klöden in the difficult local tour and then I rode to join them. Later Fuglang also bridged the gap. With these 3 men from the same team the stage to beat, the win was a great acheivement for me and my team. Now I have a stage victory and the youth jersey and I am very happy with this.
Poels is now in second place in the classification, 2 seconds after leader Fuglsang.
At Luxembourg the rider from Blitterswijck is riding his first race since Liege-Bastogne-Liege. While training in Spain and France Poels started his preparation for the Tour de France. The rider from Vacansoleil-DCM will start in the Tour Switzerland next week.
