The European Tour leaders want to move up.

Last week, team manager Daan Luijkx and the board of the Vacansoleil team agreed to apply for a Pro Tour licence for 2011. The Dutch Pro Continental team was formed in 2008 and have set the Pro Tour as a target for 2012. After reaching most of their aims for the first three years in year one, the team feel ready for the next step in 2011.
In addition to their main sponsor of Vacansoleil and a large group of ambitious sponsors, the team has room for a second team sponsor. During the search for a second sponsor Vacansoleil guarantees a good Pro Tour budget for the team.

As a Pro Tour team Vacansoleil will be able to automatically compete in all 2011 races in the Pro Tour calendar. The attacking team aims for good results in these races to secure a worldwide ranking in the top 15.

In the autumn this year the UCI will announce their decision on giving the Vacansoleil team a licence or not.
