Italian rider ends up to be the strongest in interesting final.

A second place in the 2011 edition of Paris-Tours was followed by the win in 2012. In Tours it was Marcato winning in a sprint of three whilst his strong team mate Leukemans got seventh. With just over 20k to go Marcato attacked with about 10 riders. When this group got to the last climbs Marcato put the hammer down and he saw that only Terpstra and De Vreese were able to follow. The 28 year old Italian ended up to be the strongest in the sprint.

Marcato was extremely happy: “This is by far the greatest victory in my career. The team believed in me and I am very grateful for the work they did. It is amazing to start the winter with such a great final result.”

In the last couple of weeks Marcato and his team mate Björn Leukemans showed themselves several times. They were present in the finals of races like Hamburg, Montréal, GP Wallonie and the World Championships. Meanwhile Marcato got married. Today was the cream on the cake after a strong period of racing.
