23 year old rider and Vacansoleil-DCM continue to work together.

Daan Luijkx and Pim Ligthart have agreed a new contract for 2012 and 2013. At the end of 2010 Ligthart signed a two year contract with the Dutch WorldTour formation. In his first year as a pro he won the Hel van het Mergelland and the Dutch national road championship. As well as these achievements the young man from Bergeijk was able to sprint top-5 in some difficult stages. The Vacansoleil-DCM team has great confidence in this young rider and a new and improved offer was imminent.

Michel Cornelisse is looking forward to working with the Dutch champion for another two years : “Pim has a beautiful style and in the last year he has shown his versitility in different kinds of races. In the next two years he will be one of the top cyclists in the classic races. One of his main distinguishing qualities is his eagerness to race. He is always trying to find a way to win the race, either as a team member or as a leader.” Ligthart will be part of the team for at least another two years: “This team is just right for me. They gave me a contract and since day one they have shown great trust in me. I want to grow professionally for my team. In the future, I want to prove my development by being in the finals of the classics.”
