Twenty-one year old Maurits Lammertink won four times in 2012 including the ‘Hel of Voerendaal’ and the general classification in the Polish stage race Carpathia Couriers Paths. The man from Enter was followed for some time by Vacansoleil – DCM and a month ago there was a meeting about a possible traineeship. General Manager Daan Luijkx then indicated to Lammertink that he also could make progress quickly when he proved he was ready for it. Lammertink did that in previous weeks. The team and rider signed a contract until the end of 2013.

Maurits Lammertink is very happy with the transition; ‘It’s a dream come true and sooner than I’ve expected. I’m very happy, this is what you do it for. I find Vacansoleil – DCM an appealing team for their attractive way of cycling and the chances they give to young riders. We clicked and I have the feeling that this team is going to fit with me. Of course I will see how the first year goes at Vacansoleil – DCM.’

Next month the young climber still rides in the colors of Jo Piels; ‘I still have in the next weeks two important goals with the Tour of Limburg in the Dutch Championship as promised. I want to try to give my team a nice farewell gift.’
