Australian cyclist Baden Cooke signed a one year contract with the Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team just before the official start of the new cycling season.

The 30 year old rider is well known for his sprint efforts and has achieved fame as a classic rider. This multi-winner won a stage and the green jersey in the Tour de France, and has also won stages in the Round of Switzerland, Tour Down Under and Driedaagse de Panne-Koksijde. He acheived another win in the semi-classic races of Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Flanders Championship in Koolskamp.

Baden Cooke will be a great asset to the team and manager Daan Luijkx is very happy. Although he is only 30 years old he has already competed in the Tour de France five times. At the moment he is making preparations of joining a new European cycling season in his home country. The team now consists of 22 riders and is ready for the new season. There is an opportunity for the press to meet the riders at the team presentation which is planned 9th January in Geertruidenberg, in the Netherlands.
